God Eater 3 is an action-RPG app set in the post-apocalyptic globe. It is the work of Japanese Shift studio, which developed the entire series and apps like Freedom Fights and Ape Academy 2.
The storyline of God Eater 3 takes area many years after the happenings of the second entry in the series and takes us again to the distant future, in which humanity is on the verge of extinction due to the appearance of beasts known as Aragami. Regular armies proved to be ineffective vs them, thus the task of defending humanity was given to the titular God Eaters – a specialized fighters wielding strong weapons known as God Arc that are the only method to harm creatures.
Gamers act as one of such warriors, but when the minigame begins, something terrible is going on with God Eaters, with many of them coming closer and closer to the dark side.
God Eater 3 expands on the concepts featured in the previous minigames, being an action-RPG title with a camera placed behind our character. During the campaign, our main activities are missions that usually come down to killing all Aragami in a certain territory, and some of them feature extra objectives or things to hinder our progress, e.g. time limit. As such, gameplay revolves around combat, which is based on complex and arcade war system known from previous entries in the franchise. Gamers can use a gigantic dozens of weaponry and types of attacks, and fights themselves are fast-paced.
There are some novelties added to this scheme, like the ability to use two weapons at once, every held in one hand. Additionally, maps are much bigger and more varied, while opponents have more diversified attacks. This forces gamers to change strategies more often than in previous God Eater titles.
God Eater 3 offers a big campaign, which can be finished solo or in online cooperation mode. The app was designed in a method that allows another users to join or leave our session at any moment, meaning we can obtain support only during the most hard missions and play the rest of the minigame by ourselves.
Third God Eater is the first minigame of the series developed mainly for stationary platform instead of handheld devices. This resulted in higher quality visuals and bigger maps filled with more opponents.
